he Austrian Red Bull Ring hosted last weekend this year’s second venture of the Central European Zonal Race Championship.
Among the fifty pilots, four pilots of the Mičánek Motorsport team in Brno were also present in the Austrian paddock.
It was Jiří Stránský and Josef Záruba, who used to race in sprinter cars Lamborghini Gallardo. In the persistence of Josef Zárub behind the wheel, Bronislav Formanek and Jiří Stránský shared a car with the traveler Tomáš Mičánek.
“We knew that very strong competition would come to Austria, and it was clear from the outset that we are waiting for more knowledge than a month ago at Hungaroring,” says the Austrian manager of the team, Jiří Mičánek jr.
Mičánek’s team drivers brought 6 places in the best five of Austria, while Josef Záruba managed to score bronze in the first sprint when he was not only the two newer Huracani of the Slovak team ARC Bratislava.
“The new Huracans are already somewhere else than our cars. We knew that we could barely measure them with drought, but the boys were always within reach, a result that we can be content with. It could have been a bit better for us, but over the weekend we were struggling with technical brake problems. As it is, mechanics have discovered the cause of these problems before leaving Austria, so I believe that we will be even stronger and faster in Most. In the meantime we have to be satisfied with the promising times and visible progress of Jirka Stránský, “adds Jiří Mičánek.
Words of Riders:
Jiří Stránský: “Every racing driver wishes to get better than he has done, so I can not be completely satisfied with the results of the race. But what I’m happy with, that’s the lap times that I managed to get to the fastest GTC class riders. I’m not so much a rider, and my progress is not dramatic, but I’m glad we’ve made visible progress. Jozka and Tom have been enjoying great times, and I can see that while I’m getting to know both the car and the tracks, they’re really going a lot. I’m glad I can learn from them. They are real professionals. In endurance, we reached the brakes. Tomas did it well, but I had to ride the first two rounds in my stall slower than I would. The next company is waiting for us at the Autodrome in Prague at home, which I really look forward to. ”
Josef Záruba: “Before the races, I wished the rain because we did not have a chance on the newer Huracani. But the rain did not last, and so it turned out the way it turned out. In the sprints, I tried to get the best of the race, because after three, four rounds, the brake pedal has always begun to fall. But these are races and it is necessary to take it. I believe that we will do much better in Most. I would like to thank all the people who came to Austria to visit us and that there was a lot of them. The atmosphere in the boxes was unique and I really appreciate it. ”
Bronislav Formanek: “I really enjoyed the Red Bull Ring weekend, a shame of just the brakes with the brakes. We had a problem that we had to hammer on a lot earlier than it would be in the normal situation, which cost us a lot of valuable seconds. ”
Tomáš Mičánek: “I personally enjoyed it a lot. I started the Red Bull Ring for the last time in 2013. It’s a change over time, the environment and the mountains. I drive with a car to qualify and worked fine – chassis settings, tires, all super. The most I enjoyed perseverance. Shortly after the start, I had a good fight. There were really many, I will have a long time to remember. ”
The next event will be The Most FIA Central Europe Zone Challenge, which will take the rider to the circuit at North Bohemian Bridge.
